A Peaceful Night Prayer Before Sleep

2 min read

The end of a day carries what the day collected — work left unfinished, words you wish you had said differently, worries that grow louder in the quiet. This prayer is a way of setting those things down, and trusting God to keep watch while you rest.

A Gentle Reminder Before You Pray

You do not need perfect words or a perfect moment. Read this prayer slowly. Pause where a line speaks to your heart, and add your own honest words.

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for carrying me through this day.

I set down what I did not finish and what I did not do well. Forgive what needs forgiving, and teach me what this day has to teach me.

Quiet my mind. Take the thoughts that grow louder at night and hold them until morning. Watch over the people I love while they sleep.

I can rest because You do not. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Psalm 4:8

Declaration

I lie down in peace. God is awake, my rest is safe, and tomorrow will have grace of its own.
