Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
This policy explains what information ScriptureSounds collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Who we are
ScriptureSounds is a Christian prayer and Scripture-encouragement website published at scripturesounds.org. For any question about this policy or about information you have shared with us, contact us at info@scripturesounds.org.
Information you give us
You only give us information when you choose to. That happens in two places:
- Prayer requests. If you submit a prayer request, we receive whatever you type into the form. Your name and email address are optional. If you tick “Keep my request private”, your request will not be shared, published, or quoted anywhere.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address so we can send you the weekly email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Please do not include passwords, account numbers, medical records, or other highly sensitive personal information in a prayer request.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ScriptureSounds may collect standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, the pages you visit, and the site that referred you. This is used to understand which prayers people are finding helpful and to keep the site working properly. It is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. ScriptureSounds may use them for essential site functions, for anonymous analytics, and—where affiliate links are used—to attribute a purchase to this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential functions may stop working if you do.
How we use your information
- To read and pray over the requests that are submitted.
- To reply to you, but only if you asked for a reply and gave us an email address.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To understand general site usage and improve what we publish.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not publish prayer requests with identifying details. We do not send unsolicited marketing to people who have not subscribed.
Sharing with service providers
We use third-party services to run the site — for example web hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Affiliate programmes, including the Amazon Associates Program, may set their own cookies when you click an affiliate link; their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
How long we keep information
Prayer requests are kept only as long as needed to pray over them and to respond where a reply was requested. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact info@scripturesounds.org and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Children
This site is written for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
ScriptureSounds links to other websites, including retailers. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please read their policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
