A Short Morning Prayer to Start Your Day

2 min read

The first minutes of a day set its tone. Before the messages, the lists, and the noise, there is space for a few honest words. This prayer is short on purpose — something you can pray while the kettle boils, or before your feet reach the floor.

A Gentle Reminder Before You Pray

You do not need perfect words or a perfect moment. Read this prayer slowly. Pause where a line speaks to your heart, and add your own honest words.

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for this new morning and for breath in my body.

Go before me into this day. Order what I cannot see, and give me a steady heart for what I can.

Guard my words and soften my reactions. Where I am rushed, slow me. Where I am anxious, steady me. Help me notice the people in front of me.

Let all I do today be done with You and for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.”

Psalm 143:8

Declaration

This day belongs to God. I begin it with trust and carry His peace into every hour.
